Gary Nadeau is an award winning filmmaker. He studied Fine Arts at the Cleveland Institute of Art and then transferred to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where his thesis film Red won the Gold Medal at the 1994 Student Academy Awards (The Student Oscar).
His first screenplay Jack (w/James DeMonaco) was directed by Francis Ford Coppola and attracted an all-star cast including Robin Williams, Jennifer Lopez, Diane Lane and Bill Cosby. Over the next decade, Gary worked as a Hollywood scribe, writing and selling nearly a dozen screenplays. During this period, Gary also directed two telefilms for ABC/Disney.
Over the last five years Nadeau has directed nearly thirty short films for Dwell.com, including video profiles on legendary designers Michael Graves, Chip Kidd, & Jens Risom.
He has also directed several music projects for Universal Music Group including a music video for critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Rufus Wainwright (Zebulon) and more recently a thirty-minute documentary that is featured on Rufus' 2012 album Out of the Game.
Gary’s commercial and corporate work is extensive and includes a fifteen-minute advert-film for Downtown Dubai and NYC agency Strawberry Frog 2011.
His short film Pizza Verdi (2012) was produced by Les Miserables creator and lyricist; Alain Boublil. The film features Soprano Marie Zamora and Tony nominated actor Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess). Pizza Verdi is premiering in film festivals throughout the world and has garnered numerous awards.
Nadeau’s videos have been frequently featured on Vimeo (7 staff picks), Nowness, Devour, Vevo, & theatlantic.com.
He is a current lifetime member of the Writer's Guild of America.
